The leading manufacturer of plastics – Pirinplast AD – started the renovation of more of its roofs. The investor will once again choose IKO as the supplier of the waterproofing materials for their needs. In recent years, more than 10,000 sq.m. of roof areas were renovated with IKO membranes, including the current project. Considering the forthcoming construction of a photovoltaic installation above the roof, a waterproofing system of uncompromising quality and life was chosen. The finishing layer will be IKO Carrara – with its special granules with titanium dioxide and solar reflection index SRI-82 of the finishing, it guarantees an increase in the efficiency of the photovoltaic plant by about 5%, while the energy yield is further increased substantially by the significant cooling effect of the Carrara system. The first layer is IKO base 460P60 – a membrane that is specially prepared for mechanical installation and construction of a “floating” system, directly mounted on the insulation, without the need for additional concrete screed and bitumen primer, offering a full vapor diffusion capability of the system, which will greatly improve the performance of the insulation layer. These advantages, as well as the long life of more than 35 years, make the investment high-tech and extremely reasonable.
